Located just 25 miles west of Manila is Corregidor Island, locally known as “Isla ng Corregidor” a small Island located at the entrance of Manila Bay, and once served as one of the most vital harbor defenses for Manila during World War II.
From Manila you will board a 150 seated ferryboat that will that will take us to Corregidor Island, the boat ride is approximately one hour.
Once we arrive on the Island of Corregidor we will board a pre-war type streetcar called a “Tramvia” that will assist in touring you around the island fortress, since the island is not nearly as small as it appears.
This tour is filled with history about the American and Filipino soldiers and the sacrifices they made defending the Philippines against the Japanese during World War II.
Experience the wonderful “Malinta Tunnel Light and Sound Show”, walk the ruins of the “Mile Long Barraks” visit the completely renovated and solar powered “Spanish Lighthouse”, the “Pacific War Memorial”, the “Gun-Emplacement” and the “Filipino-American Friendship Park”.
This a fantastic tour filled with rich history and heritage for both Filipinos and Americans, it is a Philippines tour that we highly recommend and encourage young people to take, as there is just no better way to learn about history, than to walk among the ruins of yesterday.
