“Shoot the Rapids”, in an authentic dugout canoe; it’s just not going to get better than this, experience the wonders of nature at their most thrilling.
Just a 2.5 hour countryside drive south of Manila and you will find yourself at the beautiful old town of Pagsanjan in Laguna. It’s here that you will see the beautiful and majestic “Pagsanjan Falls” that rise some 70 plus feet above the river line.
After you enjoy a native Filipino style lunch at a nearby resort, you will board a small dugout canoe, navigated by two very skilled boatmen that will take you upstream navigating skillfully around the rocks and boulders that line the river, to a beautiful gorge filled with lush tropical vegetation, yes you have arrived at the Majestic Pagsanjan Falls.
- The first waterfall is 20 minutes away. At the second waterfall (another 25 minutes further, not reachable at high water), the water comes from 70 ft above.
Yes, now it’s time to take a “refreshing swim” in the cool and refreshing mountain spring water. This will be a really exciting experience for the city dweller, and the time should be savored.
Now it’s time to board a “native bamboo raft” that will take you to a cave that sits behind the veil of water coming down from the 70 foot Pagsanjan Waterfalls.
Ok, it’s time to hang on tight, because this is what you came for, your trip downstream “shoot the rapids"! Ha, ha, not to worry your skilled boatman will safely maneuver the boat between the rocks and boulders where you can have a deep breathe and sigh of relief, because you have now reached the calm river of Pagsanjan.
